Tips on How to Keep Your Smile in Tip-Top Shape

Posted .

Unfortunately, there are many things that can harm the smile. In fact, there is acid, bacteria, plaque, and tartar that threaten the teeth and gums regularly. It’s important to do all you can each day to maintain the top-notch smile you deserve. To help you, our dentist, Dr. Roger Druckman, encourages you to do the following things:

-Clean your smile: It’s important to brush your teeth twice a day, floss and rinse your smile daily, and visit our office every six months for a routine dental cleaning and exam. These things remove the plaque, tartar, and other bacteria from the teeth and gumline to help you avoid dental issues, like cavities and gum disease.

-Wear a mouthguard: A mouthguard can protect your smile when you participate in high-contact sports and activities. If you wear it, it can help you avoid knocked-out teeth, injured teeth, damaged oral tissues, and more.

-Avoid or limit harmful foods and drinks: Those harmful foods and drinks are sugary and acidic products. The acid tends to attack the enamel and wear it down while the sugar promotes cavities.
